Art History in Focus

London, UK + Online Events |

Art History in Focus creates accessible, sophisticated and lively interactive online courses and events, combining specialist lectures with livestream guided walks and exclusively arranged museum broadcasts and tours. These are all led by expert art historians, archaeologists, scholars and guides around the world. Art History in Focus is the brainchild of Siân Walters, a highly experienced art historian who has been a lecturer at the National Gallery for over 20 years.

In 2021 Siân Walters pioneered the Cultural Travels from Home programme, working with major European art galleries in order to broadcast live tours of their collections during private openings. The programme has included the world’s first ever livestream tours of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice, the Medici Palace in Florence, the Castello Sforzesco in Milan, the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi, and the Galleria Colonna in Rome, plus very many more. Siân is delighted to have developed these collaborations which continue to raise important funds for the galleries and cultural sites as well as those working in the cultural sector.
