"In our series of online webinars, we visit artists, art historians and guides in cultural cities around the world and enjoy an hour’s guided tour, museum visit or demonstration. The visits are live and interactive, allowing you to ask questions. These webinars will enable you to gain special access to sites, studios and galleries whilst at the same time providing a wonderful opportunity to travel virtually from home, no matter your location.
This evening, join us for a cruise in Budapest and catch the magical "blue hour" as we sail along the famous River Danube.
SUMMARY: A great way to discover the beautiful city of Budapest is an evening cruise along the River Danube, taking in all the signature sites of the capital city, including amazing views of the Buda Castle quarter, Parliament Building, Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion. The evening illumination brings out the best of this elegant city, with classic views of its historic monuments and famous bridges. Our running commentary will cover topics such as Hungarian architecture, language, gastronomy and culture, interspered with lots of entertaining stories!
Cruise route: Elizabeth Bridge - Chain Bridge - Buda Castle quarter - Margaret Bridge - Margaret island - Parliament Building - Citadel and Statue of Liberty - Liberty Bridge - Palace of Arts and National Theatre (a map will be provided).
The tour is interactive, so you will be able to put questions to our guide throughout the visit. Our events use the most up-to-date technology to provide you with the best possible virtual experience.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION: This is a live event including interactive Q and A starting at 8.00pm UK time, lasting one hour. Tune in from anywhere in the world to participate or enjoy a recorded version if you cannot watch live. For those who are unable to participate live, you will automatically be sent a recording soon after the end of the session enabling you to watch on catch up later that evening or the following 2 days. Please note, the recording is only available to those who have not been able to participate live, and it is not possible to purchase a recording after booking has closed.
